PEARL, Miss. (MEMA) – The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is working with counties to assess damage from the severe weather on March 4, 2025. There are reports of homes damaged, trees down, and power outages due to Tuesday’s storms. Three deaths (Clarke County (1), Madison County (2)) and six injuries (Madison County (2), Wayne County (4)) have been reported to MEMA. As of 10:00 AM Wednesday, there are 6,800 reported power outages across the state, down from over 38,000 Tuesday.
The following is PRELIMINARY and will change through the assessment process. The following counties have reported they have received storm damage:
- Madison
- Perry
- Warren
- Wayne
MEMA encourages residents who’ve sustained damage from this severe weather event to do the following:
- File an insurance claim.
- Take photos of the damage to the home.
- Report damage to county/MEMA via the self-report tool.
- If citizens have immediate unmet needs, they are encouraged to contact their county emergency management agency. A list of those county contacts can be found here.
