PEARL, Miss. (FEMA) – The deadline for registering with FEMA has passed, but that does not mean FEMA is leaving. FEMA continues working with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency to help survivors and communities recover from Hurricane Ida.
The deadline to apply for disaster assistance was Dec. 22, 2021.
If you applied with FEMA by that date, FEMA encourages you to keep in touch to track your case or to notify the agency of changes to your mail and email addresses and phone numbers, and to report insurance settlements or additional damage you may have discovered since your home inspection.
You have up to a year after applying to submit additional documentation to FEMA.
Do so by:
Visiting DisasterAssistance.gov, calling 800-621-3362, or using the FEMA mobile app. If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, confirm that FEMA has the number for that service. Operators are on duty seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. CST.
