PEARL, Miss. – Severe storms impacted portions of the state early Tuesday, March 31, 2020 and George County was one of the harder hit areas.
The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for the area after radar indicated rotation was observed. However, at this time, a tornado has not officially been confirmed.
MEMA’s Area Coordinator is assisting in preliminary damage assessments today. So far, there have been reports of multiple trees and power lines down across the area. Additionally, two individuals sustained minor injuries during the storm after their vehicle flipped.
Once damage assessments are complete, MEMA will share those numbers.
